Senior Software Development Engineer Test

The SDET is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications and products through systematic testing and validation processes. They work closely with the development team to identify issues, suggest improvements, and maintain the overall quality standards of the software.

Responsibilities

 Test Planning and Strategy
 Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies that outline the testing approach, scope, and resources required.
 Identify test scenarios, use cases, and test data to cover various aspects of the software.

 Test Execution & Automation
 Execute manual and automated tests to verify the functionality, performance, and security of software applications.
 Document test results, defects, and issues in a clear and organised manner.
 Conduct regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
 Develop and maintain automated test scripts using testing frameworks and tools.
 Continuously. enhance and expand the test automation suite to cover new features and functionality.

 Defect Management
 Identify, report, and prioritise defects or issues found during testing.
 Work closely with developers to reproduce, debug, and resolve issues.
 Verify fixes and ensure that defects are properly closed.

 Process Improvement
 Continuously evaluate and enhance the QA process to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
 Identify opportunities for process automation and implement best practices.

 Documentation
 Create and maintain test documentation including test cases, test scripts, and testing guidelines.
 Produce clear and concise reports summarising testing activities, outcomes, and metrics.

Requirements

 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

 Strong understanding of software development life cycles and QA methodologies.

 4-6 yrs of experience with testing tools and frameworks, both manual and automated.

 Proficiency in programming languages and scripting for test automation (e.g., Python, Java, Selenium).

 Familiarity with version control systems and issue tracking tools.

 Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
