Software Project Manager

Job Description:

As a Software Project Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex software projects. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, testers, and other stakeholders, to ensure that projects are executed smoothly and meet all business and technical requirements. The role demands strong leadership, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

 Manage the full project lifecycle for software development projects, from initial concept through delivery and post-launch support.

 Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria.

 Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

 Coordinate tasks and communicate project status updates to internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.

 Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring projects stay on track, meet deadlines, and are delivered within budget.

 Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, developing mitigation strategies when necessary.

 Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.

 Work closely with development teams to ensure the alignment of technical and business goals.

 Track and manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.

 Ensure quality standards are met by coordinating testing and quality assurance efforts.

 Provide regular reports on project status, risks, and issues to senior management and clients.

 Mentor and guide junior project management staff, as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

 Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

 3+ years of experience managing software development projects.

 Strong understanding of software development processes, methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall), and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, MS Project).

 Proven experience managing the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, and deployment.

 Excellent leadership and organisational skills, with a focus on team collaboration and communication.

 Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate potential project risks and challenges.

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

 PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification (Scrum Master, Product Owner).

 Experience working in a fast-paced startup or tech environment.

 Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.

 Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture.
 Experience managing both in-house and remote development teams.,
