Dow has an opportunity for a Data Scientist to join the Diamond System Analytics group (organized in Information Technology) located in Mumbai (IND).Dows data scientists contribute to the companys digital transformation by solving challenging problems from both businesses and functions. The Data Scientist will work with a cross-functional team whose objective is to create analytics solutions to help drive business value at Dow. The data scientist will work with a data scientist team to identify new analytics opportunities and help design and develop analytics solutions across the company. Projects can include design and implementation of a new model and/or enhancements of advanced models in different business or functional domains. We are seeking candidates who have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, or Computer Science as well as programming experience.

The Data Scientist will work hand in hand with a multi-disciplinary IT team (analysts/designers/developers/support) to Create valuable contributions to analytics projects, Demonstrate expertise with various analytics methods or applications/tools. Gather and analyze data to perform analysis and develop solutions in Azure or other analytics tools emphasizing efficiency, reliability, and automation. Identify opportunities for innovation to accelerate Dows digital transformation.

Responsibilities
 Demonstration of effective analytical and problem-solving abilities.
 Familiarity with programming languages for data analysis; ideally Python, R, or SQL.
 Familiarity with various data models, data analytics techniques, Machine learning and AI algorithms.
 Familiarity with data extraction, data manipulation and data visualization techniques.
 The ability to develop and deploy end-to-end data science solutions using associated technologies.
 The ability to effectively communicate with a diverse set of stakeholders to facilitate successful project implementations.
 Maintaining a working knowledge of tools and techniques for machine learning and modeling applications.

Qualifications:
 A minimum of a Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer science, Statistics, or other relevant discipline.
 Hands-on experience of data science projects including querying databases using SQL, programming, analytics model development and implementation, using Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and Scikit-learn) or equivalent environment in R.
 PhD is preferred.
 Minimum 2 years of experience in data analytics, modeling or machine learning.
 Knowledge developing in Azure environment.
 Background or experience in business application of analytics is highly desired.

 Ability to thrive in challenging situations and solve complex problems.
 Innate and insatiable curiosity about emerging technologies, with the ability to quickly learn and exploit cutting edge offerings to achieve business objectives.
 Ability to take initiative and deliver results.
 Development of machine learning in Microsoft Azure or other analytics tools. Data harmonization, exploratory data analysis and feature engineering.
 Supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
 Deep learning techniques.
