Job Summary:
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing sales operations within a designated geographical area. The primary focus is to increase market share, achieve sales targets, and ensure excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, excellent leadership skills, and extensive experience in the FMCG industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve the sales targets in the assigned area.
Analyze sales trends, market conditions, and competitors to identify opportunities for growth.
Monitor and drive sales performance by setting clear goals for the sales team.
Team Management:
Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales team.
Provide regular coaching, feedback, and support to the sales team to ensure they meet their targets.
Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, address issues, and plan for upcoming activities.
Market Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and retailers.
Oversee the execution of promotional activities and trade marketing initiatives.
Customer Relationship Management:
Ensure excellent customer service by resolving customer complaints and issues promptly.
Work closely with key accounts to ensure their needs are met and to grow business with them.
Regularly visit the market to understand customer needs, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare and submit regular sales reports to senior management, providing insights on performance and market conditions.
Track and analyze sales data to measure the effectiveness of sales strategies and initiatives.
Manage sales budgets and expenses within the area.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, preferably in the FMCG sector.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
