Location
Baxter Planning is headquartered in Austin, Texas with offices in Spain and India. Though this role will mostly be remote, the position will be located out of our rapidly growing Barcelona office.

Position Overview
As a QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our multiple SaaS products. You will design creative ways to break software and identify potential bugs. You will be re-sponsible for analysing the functionality of our applications and designing automated functional tests. You will collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to contribute to product design, testability, and implementation.
Responsibilities
Be responsible for all quality aspects in a Scrum team: manual testing, regression testing, automation, bug tracking, bug prevention and process improvement
Develop test plans based on the analysis of feature requirements and a deep understanding of an applications behavior to verify the functionality, usability, performance, and reliability of our soft-ware applications
Conduct thorough manual and automated testing of web applications, APIs, and other software components
Identify, document, and track software defects and issues and work with the development team to ensure timely resolution
Participate in the planning and estimation of testing efforts and provide feedback on potential risks and areas of improvement to enhance user experience
Continuously enhance and optimize testing processes and methodologies to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness
Define the test framework, test preconditions, and other test control and reporting functions to enable others to test functionality
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to software quality assurance, and proactively share knowledge within the team
Actively contribute to a positive team culture by fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning
Qualifications
4+ years experience as a QA Engineer or similar role in a software development environment
Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans, test cases, and bug reports
Experience with test automation tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, Karate Framework, TestNG, Junit, Cucumber, Appium, or similar
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Swagger
Strong knowledge of SQL queries
Knowledge of distributed version control system (e.g., git)
Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
Familiarity with programming languages; Java is desirable, or good knowledge of another language or desire to learn (Python, JavaScript)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams
Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and oral communication skills
Fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins)
Knowledge of MongoDB would be valued
Knowledge of performance testing methodologies and tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
