- Overview:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and executing a strategic
plan to identify, cultivate, and close new business deals, working collaboratively with both onsite
and offsite team members. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and
organizational skills, as well as the ability to effectively coordinate and motivate teams in
different locations.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Research:
Conduct thorough market research to identify new business opportunities, trends, and
customer needs.
Develop a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with company goals,
considering both onsite and offsite team capabilities.
Research and analyze potential clients and partner to assess their fit for our products or
services.
2. Lead Generation & Qualification:
Generate qualified leads through various channels, including networking, cold calling,
and digital prospecting.
Qualify leads by understanding their specific needs and pain points.
Work collaboratively with marketing and sales teams to nurture leads through the sales
funnel.
3. Relationship Building and Negotiation:
Build strong relationships with potential clients, key stakeholders and partners, both
onsite and virtually.
Deliver compelling presentations that showcase the value proposition of our offerings.
Negotiate contracts and pricing terms to ensure mutually beneficial agreement.
4. Team Leadership & Management:
Effectively manage business development activities for both onsite and offsite team
members, fostering open communication and collaboration.
Clearly articulate business goals and updates to internal stakeholders.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourage teamwork and
innovation.
5. Performance and Analysis:
Set and achieve ambitious sales targets for new business acquisition.
Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of
business development activities.
Adapt and refine strategies based on data insights and market feedback.
6. Training and Development:
Develop training and programs and resources to enhance the skills and capabilities of
team members and provide coaching and mentorship to support professional growth and
development.
Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA
preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Business Development role.
Proven track record of identifying, qualifying, and closing new business deals.
Strong understanding of market research techniques and competitor analysis.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
Proficiency in CRM software and sales tools.
Experience working in a collaborative environment with onsite and offsite teams.
