- Job Overview: The Export Sales Manager is responsible for generating sales and revenue through international markets by identifying opportunities, establishing and maintaining relationships with foreign clients, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the smooth logistics of exporting goods. The role requires a strategic thinker with excellent sales and negotiation skills, along with a deep understanding of international trade regulations and market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Analysis and Strategy Development:
Conduct market research to identify potential markets, customer needs, and trends.
Develop and implement effective sales strategies tailored to specific international markets.
Analyze competitors" activities and market conditions to adjust strategies accordingly.
Sales and Relationship Management:
Identify, approach, and establish relationships with new international clients.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business.
Negotiate and finalize sales contracts, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
Logistics and Export Compliance:
Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
Ensure all export activities comply with international trade regulations and company policies.
Prepare and manage documentation required for export activities, including invoices, shipping documents, and customs declarations.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
Prepare regular sales forecasts and budgets.
Monitor and report on competitor activities and potential threats to the business.
Team Collaboration and Development:
Work closely with marketing, product development, and logistics teams to align strategies and achieve business goals.
Provide training and support to junior sales team members, if applicable.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree Engineering and Post Graduate in International Business, Marketing would be added advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in international sales, preferably in the Engineering Industry.
Skills:
Strong understanding of international trade regulations and export compliance.
Proven track record in sales and business development.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Fluency in [specific language(s)] is an advantage.
Personal Attributes:
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
High level of cultural awareness and adaptability.
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
Ability to travel internationally as needed.
